Mark Kelsey

Mark began his insurance career in 2009 focusing on outsourced financial services for multiple Lloyd’s syndicates.

In 2011 he moved to Aspen Insurance (Syndicate 4711) as an underwriting assistant focusing primarily on both land based and Marine Kidnap and Ransom as well as some Personal Accident business. Later Mark moved internally to run the Terrorism and Political Violence portfolio where he was solely responsible for the day to day underwriting and management of the Terrorism and Political Violence portfolio. Mark also held similar positions at Advent Underwriting (Syndicate 780) and Pioneer Underwriting Limited before joining Optio.

Mark joined Optio in 2020 as a senior underwriter where he is responsible for day to day underwriting of the portfolio within the PVT team, and has since been promoted to UK Head of Political Violence and Terrorism.
